01. GINS CRAFTED BY LOCAL PEOPLE
This is a story of a group of friends that came together with a shared vision of creating a distillery in a place that they loved. Tamsin, Nick, Sophie, Josie, Tilly, Jan, John, Harmony and Graham have all contributed to the creation of Shivering Mountain. The Pennine Mountains grow out of the Peak District in one of the most beautiful regions in the UK. To live and work with friends on the mountains and down in the valleys surrounded by such a rich history makes Shivering Mountain a special place to be and has helped us create our authentic gins.
Shivering Mountain Gin is a community enterprise. We employ local experts, suppliers, and use local botanicals and ingredients wherever possible to create a truly authentic Peak District gin experience.
We’re into quality not volume. Our focus is on highly crafted premium gins. We run small batches so we can perfect the taste and consistency. Every batch is hand-crafted by our expert and passionate team.

Building on the idea of Ginology and the impact of elemental forces that have shaped the ruggedness and beauty of The Peak District, we developed a disruptive, creative solution that celebrate the nature and provenance of the new gin.
Everything has been considered, from the unique bottle shape that echoed the scale and shiver of the local mountain to the website that slides effortlessly from one page to the next. Every touch point delivers on the quality promise that Shivering Mountain gin has been ‘forged & foraged for peak perfection’.

Over many, many months of crafting and testing we created a premium bottle design to capture the spirit of the Peak District, our gins and our passion for provenance. There’s layers of detail and authenticity to be discovered.

We’ve hidden the mountains geographical coordinates on the base as a final piece of the journey and experience.
THE LABEL
We’ve forged geological and botanical patterns together to create a distinctive visual identity. The patterns hint at each gin’s unique ingredients.
